Cuando vimos la película de "The Mist" le dije a Moy que esa realmente no era una película para ver en Suecia jaja y bueno creo que la foto explicará mejor a que me refiero.

Recordando a la Abuela / Remembering my Grandmother

Hace unos días encontramos en el Hemköp (un supermercado)... CAMOTES, es la primera vez que los vemos por acá aunque en realidad tampoco los habíamos estado buscando jeje. Pero el chiste es que en cuanto los vi se me antojaron.

Compramos uno solamente porque a Moy no le gustan. Llegando a la casa lo metimos al horno en papel aluminio y esperamos...y esperamos...y esperamos hasta que se hizo. Al abrir el horno salía el olor característico de los camotes.

Siguiente paso abrir la alacena para sacar la lechera pero ... ¡¡¡NO TENÍAMOS!!! así que no me quedó de otra más que esperar a que compraramos una así que lo guardé. Al día siguiente compramos la lechera pero para cuando me lo iba a comer no me cabía jaja así que una vez más lo guardé.

Pero como dicen la tercera es la vencida, al día siguiente dejé espacio, abrimos la lechera y no pude evitar acordarme muchísimo de mi abuela (q.e.p.d).

Para los que no saben la historia, cada domingo que nos juntábamos en casa de mi abuela, pasaba después de comer el señor de los camotes, con su carrito silbando, al instante volteábamos a ver a mi abuela y ella ya estaba pidiendo su monedero para darnos dinero y salir a comprar nuestro camote lleno de lechera, simplemente delicioso.

A few days ago we found at Hemköp (a supermarket)... SWEET POTATOES, it's the first time we saw them here but we were not really searching for them hehe. Anyway, in the moment I saw them I really wanted one.

We only bought one because Moy doesn't like them. When we arrived home we put it in the oven in aluminum paper and wait...and wait...and wait until it was ready. When we open the oven the characteristic smell came out.

Next step, open the cupboard to take out the condensed milk but... WE DIDN'T HAVE!!! so I didn't have other option than wait until we buy one so I keep it in the fridge. The next day we bought the milk but when I was going to eat it I was sooo full I couldn't take it haha so one more time I keep it in the fridge.

But they say the third is the winner so the next day I leave space in my stomach, we opened the milk and I couldn't avoid remember my grandmother (r.i.p).

For those who doesn't know the story, every sunday that we got together in my grandmother's house, after eating the man from the sweet potatoes pass by, with his car whistling, immediately we turn to see my grandmother and she was already asking for her purse to give us money to go and buy our sweet potato completely cover of condensed milk, simply delicious.

Risk Ettan

Ahora que estamos decididos a tener nuestra licencia de manejo sueca pues empezamos los trámites y todo. Lo primero es pedir el permiso de conducir y para eso tienes que ir a una óptica a hacer el examen de la vista y mandar la solicitud pero antes de eso realizar el pago correspondiente.

Después pues apartir del 1ro de abril de este año corrimos con la gran suerte de que hicieron obligatorio otro curso llamado Risk Ettan, el cual es un curso de riesgos donde te hablan de manejar cansado, después de haber ingerido alcohol o drogas, etc.

Total que nos inscribimos para este curso pero como iba a ser completamente en sueco le pedimos a Peter que nos acompañara para que nos echara la mano. Una vez en el curso lo dio un chavo muy buena gente que aparte nos dijo que podíamos hacerle preguntas en inglés y a la hora de poner videos les ponía subtítulos en los que se podía.

El curso estuvo bien, bastante completo lo único malo fue que terminó un poco después de lo esperado y Peter se tenía que ir a Gotemburgo rápidamente. Decidimos unirnos a su viaje a Gotemburgo para caminar un rato por los alrededores, comimos y más tarde decidimos ver G.I. Joe en el cine.

Now that we're decided to get our swedish driving license we started the paperwork and everything. First of all you need to get a driving permit and to get it you have to make an eye exam and send an application but before that make the payment.

After the 1st of april of this year we were so lucky that they make a course called Risk Ettan compulsory, which a course where they talked to you about the risks of driving tired, or after taking alcohol or drugs, etc.

So we signed for this course but as was going to be in swedish we asked Peter to join us so he can help us out. Once in the course a very nice guy gave the course and he actually told us that we could make him question in english and when he put videos he put subtitles for us were was available.

The course was pretty ok, very complete and the only bad part was that ended a little bit later that expected and Peter has to run to Gothenburg. We decided to go with Peter ro Gothenburg to walk around a little bit, we ate and later we decided to watch a G.I. Joe at the cinema.

Fiesta de Independencia / Independence Party

Este año nos lanzamos a la fiesta mexicana que se organiza en Gotemburgo, la verdad es que estuvo muy bien.

Fuimos de los primeros en llegar porque nos fuimos con Alejandro y él se había ofrecido a ayudar en la organización. Alejandro invitó a su amigo Martin para que conociera un poco de las celebraciones mexicanas.

De lo mejor que hubo fue la comida ya que podías escoger entre un carnitas (tortillas y frijoles incluidos) y flautas (de pollo o papa). Moy y yo escogimos flautas y la verdad es que estuvieron deliciosas aparte de que la salsa que aunque no picaba mucho le daba un sabor rico.

Después de la cena empezó el grito el cual lo dio un señor de la embajada seguido por cantar nuestro himno nacional que realmente hace que se te enchine la piel. Hay un grupo de señoras que se juntan a ensayar bailables y en fiestas de este tipo hacen todo un show, que la verdad les sale muy bien y se van intercalando con el "mariachi" que en realidad para mi es más un trío pero la verdad es que le echan muchas ganas y más si consideras que está formado por 3 suecos y un mexicano jajaja.

Al finalizar los bailables pues se recogen algunas de las mesas para dar espacio para bailar pero realmente la música dejó mucho que desear y no comunicaba jajaja. Lo único que si me gustó de la música fue cuando pusieron caballo dorado y en serio que como me acordé de mi mamá que siempre corre a bailarla y nos jala a todos, y pues para continuar con la tradición nos paramos a bailar y lo más gracioso del caso es que jalamos a Martin, a quien debo decir le salió bastante bien... incluso le ganó a Alejandro jaja.

Antes de la media noche pues nos decidimos regresar pues todavía nos quedaba una hora de camino. Pero la pasamos muy bien y pues así celebramos nuestra independencia aunque nos adelantams unos cuantos días.

This year we decided to go to the mexican party that it's organized in Gothenburg every year, and was really good.

We were one of the first ones to arrived since Alejandro promised to help with the organization. Alejandro invited his friend Martin so he could know a little bit of the mexican celebrations.

One of the best things was the food, you could choose between "carnitas" (tortillas and beans included) and "flautas" (chicken or potato). Moy and I chose flautas and they were delicious, the sauce that wasn't spicy really but gave the a very good taste.

After dinner the "shout" began, which was made by a man from the embassy, after that we sang the Mexican Anthem which makes you feel chills. There is a group of women that get together to dance mexican traditional songs and in parties of this kind they make all the show, and to e honest they do it really well and they dance once and then the "mariahi" sing a song although for me it's more a "trio" but they make a big effort and more if you consider they are 3 swedish and a mexican hahaha.

When all the dancing and singing is finished, it's time to remove some tables to give space to the dancefloor but I didn't like so much the music they didn't really put the typical songs for a party in Mexico hahaha. But one this a liked from the music was when they put "Caballo Dorado" and I immediately remember my mom, she always runs to the dancefloor when that song starts and pull everyone with her, and to continue with the tradition we get up to dance it and the funniest thing is that we pull Martin with us, and who will say that he was really good ... and actually he was better than Alejandro haha.

Before midnight we decided to come back to Trollhättan, we still have one hour of travelling. We had a very good time and we celebrated our independence although we celebrate a few days earlier.

Aeroshow

Cada año se lleva a cabo un show aereo en el Aeromuseum en Gotemburgo y pues cada año habíamos tenido ganas de ir pero finalmente nos decidimos lanzar. Partimos algo temprano el domingo porque todo empezaba a las 9 pero decidimos llegar como a las 10. El día estaba nublado aunque de repente se despejaba un poco y salía el sol pero la mayor parte del tiempo hizo frío.

El museo se encuentra a un lado del aeropuerto de Gotemburgo (Säve) osea el pequeño de donde salen los aviones de Ryanair. El programa consistía en aviones de todo tipo desde unos muy antiguos que sentías que se iban a volar, aviones de la segunda guerra mundial y aviones de combate modernos y no podían faltar los helicópteros que fue lo que más le gustó a Moy. Pero de vez en cuando tenían que dar espacio a los aterrizajes y despegues de Ryanair que en el caso de Alejandro fue lo que más disfrutó ya que le fascinan los aviones de pasajeros.









Todo en general estuvo muy bien, estuvimos allá todo el día, ya que terminó como a las 6 de la tarde y de ahí nos metimos al museo ya que ese día estaba incluída la entrada al asistir al show.

Lo que más me impresionó fue el Team 60 que eran 6 aviones que volaban de manera simétrica y super pegaditos, la verdad es que cada vez que venían de frente se te ponía la piel chinita.

Every year in the Aeromuseum in Gothenburg they make an aeroshow and every year we wanted to go but this time we decided to go finally. We leave early on sunday becaue everything started at 9 but we decided to arrive around 10. The day was really cloudy, sometimes get clear and the sun came out but most of the time was cold.

The museum is in one side of the Gothenburg Airport (Säve) the small one from where the Ryanair airplanes fly. The program included airplanes of all kind from the very old ones that you feel were going to be destroy by the wind, planes for the world war II and more modern combat planes and also the helicopter were there which were the ones Moy liked the most. But once in a while they have to leave the Ryanair planes land or take off and in Alejandro's case they were the ones that he enjoyed the most since he loves the passenger planes.

Everything was really good, we were there the whole day since it ended at 18:00 and after that we get into the museum since that day the entrance was included.

What I liked the most was the Team 60 which were 6 planes flying together in a simmetric way and very very close to each other. Everytime they were flying against each other you felt chills.

¡¡Una vez más Coldplay!! / One more time Coldplay!!

Pues una vez más tuvimos la oportunidad de ir al concierto de Coldplay, hace aproximadamente un año se presentaron en el Globen en Estocolmo y este año se presentaron en el estadio de Estocolmo y pues nos volvimos a lanzar.

En esta ocasión para quitarnos el mal sabor de boca de la vez pasada nos fuimos hasta abajo a estar en el mero ambiente y en la mera bola.

Llegamos en la noche del viernes a Estocolmo, en la mañana del sábado amaneció lloviendo pero luego la lluvia paró, nos pusimos a caminar y comprar unas cuantas cosillas jeje. Y como por ahí de las 5:00 decidimos comer en un MAX para después caminar al hotel y aventar nuestras comprar y prepararnos para el concierto. Claro que a Peter le dio hambre antes.


El día se puso muy bien, el cielo se despejó y andábamos en una temperatura de 20°C. Llegamos al estadio después de una larga caminata como a las 6:30 y esperamos como media hora para poder entrar. Una vez adentro a los poco minutos empezó el grupo que abrió que en esta ocasión fue White Lies el cual estuvo bastante bien, en particular la canción de "Death" está muy buena.


Total que poco a poco nos fuimos metiendo entre la multitud para terminar a unos 10 m de la parte de enmedio del escenario pero pues lamentablemente estoy bastante chaparrita jaja para este tipo de eventos. Una vez que empezó pues todo mundo se animó bastante, cantando, aplaudiendo, gritando, etc. Moy de vez en cuando me levantaba para ver más.

El concierto duró poco menos de 2 horas pero estuvo bastante bien, nos gustó bastante, cantando a todo pulmón y brincando lo más que se podía. Obviamente no podía faltar el tributo a Michael Jackson dentro del concierto cantando Billy Jean.

Al día siguiente desayunamos y partimos a la estación de camiones ya que nos esperaba un laaaargo camino a casa, en camión por 8 horas (con 1 hora de intermedio jeje).

Once more we had the chance to go to a Coldplay concert, a year ago more or less they came to Globen in Stockholm and this year they came to the Olympic Stadium of Stockholm and we went to see them again.

This time we decided to have a better experience than last time, so we went to the lowest part to be in the crowd with more party around.

We arrived friday night to Stockholm; saturday morning was raining but then th rain went away, we walked around and bought some stuff hehe. Around 17:00 we decided to eat in a MAX and later walk to the hotel to drop our shopping y get ready for the concert. Of course Peter was hungry before that.

The day turn to a very nice once, the sky was clear and the temperature was around 20°C. We arrived to the stadium after a long walk around 18:30, it took us like half hour to get in. Once inside, a few minutes later the opening group started, this time was White Lies, which was really good, specially the song "Death".

Little by little we got into the crowd and we finished like 10 meters from the part of the middle of the stage, but unfortunately I am quite small for this kind of shows haha. Once the concert started all the people was really excited, dancing, clapping, singing, shouting, etc. Once in a while Moy pull me up to see more.

The concert lasted a little bit less than 2 hours but was really good, we liked it a lot, singing and jumping as much as we could. Of course they performed a little tribute to Michael Jackson during the concert singing Billy Jean.

The next day we took breakfast and went to the bus station, we had a looong way home, 8 hours by bus (with 1 hour break hehe).

Madonna en Concierto / Madonna in Concert

Pues por x o z razón se me había pasado platicarles sobre el concierto de Madonna. Y bueno creo que todo fue porque en realidad fue un poco decepcionante. Primero abrió el concierto Paul Oakenfold y pues la verdad si hubieran puesto una grabadora hubiera dado lo mismo jajaja. Como a las 9:30 Madonna salió al escenario y aunque el concierto en sí no estuvo mal, el ambiente pues nunca se levantó ni nada. La gente una vez más sentada moviendo un pie a lo mucho jaja.






Una parte que realmente no me gustó para nada fue como a medio concierto cuando Madonna terminó de cantar la de "Spanish Lessons" y después sale un grupo con sus guitarritas y medio x a cantar canciones leeeentaaaas. Pero el colmo de los colmos fue cuando Madonna se pone a medio escenario, empieza a hablar sobre los suecos, saluda al público y dice "I heard Sweden likes to party!!!" (Escuché que a Suecia le gusta la fiesta), obviamente todo el mundo se prende y grita "YEEESSS!!!" (SIII) ... acto seguido empieza Madonna con una guitarra acústica a cantar la canción MÁS aburrida que se pudo encontrar, "You Must Love Me".


Yo en lo personal pues estuve cantando y bailando y la pase bien, pero pudo haber estado mejor. No pudo faltar el tributo a Michael Jackson con un pequeño remix y no estuvo nada mal.




De mis canciones favoritas fueron "Like a Prayer", "4 minutes" y "Give it to Me". Creo que parte de lo malo del concierto fue el sonido que se quedaba en el escenario y como que no salía al público en general.







Y bueno ya al final todo mundo se quedó esperando a que regresará al escenario pero no, se despidió sin más ni más. Duró casi las 2 horas el concierto.

Well for some reason or other I haven't tell you about Madonna's concert. And well I think mainly because was a little bit disappointing. In the beginning the concert special guest was Paul Oakenfold and I most said that if they put a recorder with music could be the same hahaha. Around 21:30 Madonna went out and although the concert was not bad, the people never got in the mood. One more time the people was sitting and moving maybe just a foot haha.

One thing that I really didn't like was around half concert when Madonna started singing "Spanish Lessons" and after that a group of people with guitars (whatever) and started singing very slooooow songs. But what really was like "what's going on???" was when Madonna is in the middle of the stage, say hello to the audience, starts talking about the swedes and said "I heard Sweden likes to party!!!", of course everybody got very excited and shouted "YEEESSS!!!" ... after that Madonna starts singing with an acoustic guitar the MOST boring song that she could find, "You Must Love Me".

I was singing and dancing and had a great time, but I think it could be better. And of course could not be missed the tribute to Michael Jackson with a little remix and was not bad at all.

My favorite songs were "Like a Prayer", "4 minutes" and "Give it to Me". I think that part of the bad thing of the concert was that the sound stays in the staged and didn't come out to all the audience.

And well at the end everybody was waiting that Madonna return to the stage but no, she said goodbye without any more explanation. The concert was almost 2 hours.

¡¡¡Un día muy bonito!!! / A very pretty day!!!

El día de hoy, el clima estuvo MUUUY bonito, por lo tanto decidimos echarnos la pinta y no ir a nuestra clase de sueco jeje.




Nos salimos a caminar y aprovechamos para comernos un sandwich de camarones (Räksmörgås) en el café de las compuertas (Slusscafeet) que no estuvo nada mal, lo único malo desde mi punto de vista fue cuando descubrí a medio sandwich ¡¡¡medio huevo cocido!!! el cual odio así que decidí pasárselo a Moy jeje.




Después continuamos caminando y como íbamos a la orilla del río le dije a Moy que se me antojaba meter los pies al agua, así que encontramos un lugarcito ideal donde sentarnos y poder mojar mis pies, aunque el agua estaba bastante fría y cuando los metí por primera vez se me enfriaron hasta las ideas jaja, pero ya luego me fui aclimatando. Moy se estaba quedando dormido pero una horrible oruga lo despertó cuando se empezaba a subir en él.





Disfrutamos mucho nuestra tarde y esperamos que el clima nos permita volverlo a repetir pronto.

Today, the weather was VERY nice, so we decided to skip our swedish class hehe.

We went out to walk and we took the opportunity to eat a sandwich of shrimps (Räksmörgås) in the coffee of the locks (Slusscafeet) that was not bad at all, the only thing I didn't like was when I discovered that in the middle of the sandwich was half of a boiled egg!!! which I hate so I decided to put it in Moy place hehe.

Afterthat we continue walking and since we were in the edge of the river I told Moy that could be nice to put my feet in the water, we found a perfect spot where we could sit down and put my feet in the water, but the water was really cold and when I put me feet for the first time my ideas were also cold haha, but after a while I got used to it. Moy was getting sleep when I horrible caterpillar woke him up when started to get on him.

We enjoyed a lot our afternoon and hopefully we will enjoy it soon if the weather allow us.

Regreso al Gimnasio / Back to the Gym

Hoy fue mi regreso finalmente al gimnasio. Después de una laaaarga ausencia hasta eso que no me costó tanto trabajo como pensé. Mi condición ahí está solo andaba un poco de vacaciones jeje.

Pero bueno no queda más que a darle para cada día tener mejor condición y porque no reafirmar los músculos y hacerlos salir jeje.

Today I went back to the gym. After a looong absence I must say wasn't as painful as I thought was going to be. My condition is still there was just on vacation hehe.

But anyway I don't have any other choice than continue to have every day a better condition and why not to make my muscles hard or at least make them come out hehe.

Bohus Fästning

Este fin de semana nos lanzamos a la Fortaleza de Bohus que desde hace mucho teníamos ganas de ir. Se encuentra a las afueras de Gotemburgo. El día no era de lo mejor puesto que hacía mucho aire. Salimos de Trole como a las 11:30 y fuimos a la tienda de fábrica de galletas Goteborg's donde compramos una buena ración ya que estaban a muy buen precio. Peter llevaba café recién hecho y nos lo tomamos a las afueras de la fortaleza acompañado de nuestras galletas.




Finalmente entramos a la fortaleza a las 2 de la tarde para alcanzar a la guía aunque sería en sueco así que no entendimos todo por supuesto. Resulta que la fortaleza se construyó por el año 1300 por el gobierno noruego ya que ahí existía la frontera entre Noruega y Suecia. Hubo 14 intentos de apoderarse de la fortaleza pero sin éxito hasta que por el Tratado de Roskilde pasó a ser propiedad de Suecia. Aunque en varias ocasiones tuvo que ser reconstruída por los daños sufridos en varias guerras. La fortaleza tambien fue prisión y su más famoso prisionero pasó 32 años en una celda de piedra sin ventanas.






La fortaleza cuenta con varios túneles y pasadizos por todos lados, y con 3 torres principales, así como dos grandes bodegas, cocina, capilla y un mini laguito. Tiene un estilo muy medieval por lo que la guía también estaba vestida de acuerdo a la época. Y a mediados de julio se hace un festival medieval.






En general nuestro viaje estuvo muy divertido aunque al final empezó a llover y fue justo a tiempo cuando nos fuimos de regreso al coche para no empaparnos.

Last weekend we went to the Bohus Fortress where we wanted to go since a long time ago. It's located outside Gothenburg. The day wasn't the best because was really windy. We went out from Trollhättan around 11:30 and went to the "outlet" store of cookies Goteborg's where we bought a good amount of cookies since were cheap. Peter took just made coffee so we took it outside the fortress with our cookies.

Finally we got in the fortress around 14:00 to reach the guide although was in swedish so we didn't understand everything of course. But well the fortress was made around the year 1300 byt the norwegian government since there was the border between Sweden and Norway. The fortress was invested 14 times, but was never captured. Was with the Treaty of Roskilde that become a property of Sweden. In several occasions has to be reconstructed due to the wars. The fortress was also a prison and one of the most famous prisoners spent 32 years here in a stone cell without any window.

The fortress has several tunnels and corridors everywhere and three main towers, two big storage rooms, kitchen, chapel and a little lake. Has a medieval style and the guide was dress with clothes from that time. In the middle of July a medieval festival is made there.

In general our trip was really fun although in the end started to rain and we went just in time to the car without getting all wet.
